TPU performance characteristics
Thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer (TPU) is between rubber and plastic and has many excellent characteristics:
1. Excellent wear resistance bai energy: its Taber abrasion value is 0.35-0.5mg, which is the smallest among plastics. Adding lubricant can reduce friction and further improve the degree of wear resistance;
2. Tensile strength and elongation rate: the tensile strength of TPU is 2-3 times that of natural rubber and synthetic rubber, the tensile strength of polyester TPU is> 60Mpa, the elongation is 410%, the tensile strength of polyurethane TPU 50Mpa, 550% elongation;
3. Oil resistance: The oil resistance of TPU is better than that of nitrile rubber, and it has an excellent oil resistance life;
4. Low temperature resistance, weather resistance, and ozone resistance. The weathering resistance of TPU is better than natural rubber and other synthetic rubbers. Its ozone and radiation resistance have special applications in the aerospace industry;
5. Food and medical health: TPU has biocompatibility and anticoagulant properties, and medical TPU is more and more widely used. Such as blood transfusion, ureter, infusion tube. TPU contains no enhancer, is non-toxic and tasteless, and is widely used in the food industry;
6. Hardness range: The hardness of TPU is 60A-75D. It still maintains elasticity when the hardness is above 85A, which is a characteristic that other elastomers do not have, so TPU has high load supporting capacity and good suction and discharge effect;
7. TPU is generally divided into polyester type TPU, polyether type TPU, and poly(J) and polycaprolactone type TPU:
ⅠPerformance characteristics of polyester TPU
Polyester TPU: It has high mechanical temperature, good abrasion resistance, oil resistance, fuel and solvent resistance, high temperature performance and excellent UV resistance and hydrolytic stability. For applications with the above requirements, the polyester TPU series is recommended;
Ⅱ Performance characteristics of polyether TPU:
Polyether thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer TPU has low temperature flexibility, good weather resistance, excellent toughness, abrasion resistance, hydrolysis resistance and antimicrobial properties, which can meet the requirements of cold weather, hydrolysis or mechanical damage. Product requirements with basic performance requirements; more typical applications are in the cable industry: cables that need to be coiled, stored and unwound under extreme weather conditions, need to be dragged on rocky terrain and dragged in the desert or in the Arctic ice Cables, cables that need to be immersed in water or twisted, bent, or roughly processed; they are also ideal materials for seals, straps, pipes, and profiles.
ⅢPerformance characteristics of polycaprolactone TPU
Polycaprolactone TPU: It not only has the mechanical strength and high temperature performance of polyester TPU, but also has the hydrolysis resistance and low temperature resistance of polyether TPU, and has good resilience. It is suitable for applications in special industries.
Features: The use of TPU material to produce plastic rods has the properties of tensile resistance, strong tension, high tear strength, abrasion resistance, bending resistance, penetration resistance, low temperature resistance, hydrolysis resistance, etc., and has good resilience and use long life. This product does not contain plasticizers, is non-toxic and tasteless, and is a high-performance environmentally friendly material. It is the best substitute for PVC and rubber materials. Type: polyester TPU, polyether TPU, polycaprolactone TPU.
Product characteristics: TPU has superior mechanical properties, good abrasion resistance, low temperature resistance, aging resistance, high-strength impact resistance and tear resistance, and has high elongation and tensile strength. It is non-toxic, environmentally friendly material, and has strong abrasion resistance (more wear-resistant than POM and nylon); it has high softness, quietness, higher elastic modulus than rubber with similar hardness, and has less swelling in solvents and fuels. It has good weather resistance and does not contain plasticizers.
